Nifty little keepsake, but only time will tell how it holds up
The Motion Books: $104.99 at the time of reviewI’m always on the lookout for nifty gifts for my wife. But that search intensifies around this time of year as we close in on our wedding anniversary. As I was browsing Amazon and saw this video memory book, it seemed like a great gift idea. And since it’s going to be an anniversary gift, I thought I’d populate it with videos from our wedding.The first thing I’d like to talk about is the quality of the packaging. Since this is almost certain to be given as a gift (as in my case), the quality and polish of the packaging is really important. In this case, it looks great. Well the cardboard box is somewhat plain, the book itself comes safely wrapped in Styrofoam to protect it during shipping. The package also includes a charging cable.Continuing on a high quality bandwagon is the book itself. I ordered the ‘Memories’ Version of this book which came covered in a really nice cloth with gold leaf lettering. The inside of the book is nice as well, though, since it’s just plain white paper, I’d be a little worried about handling this book with dirty hands.Using the book is super easy. When you open it for the first time, it includes a QR code that directs you to instructions on how to upload videos. For this price, I feel like the internal storage could’ve been a little bit bigger (it’s only 4GB). But it’s easy enough to upload videos, and frankly, this isn’t exactly the format to be watching longer footage. So a smaller storage space isn’t really the end of the world.I noticed a couple of other reviewers mentioned that the starting volume of this book is fairly loud. I have to agree with this assessment. I wish there was a way to adjust the default volume such that when you open it up, it doesn’t blast you with audio. It’s easy enough to turn down, but it’s startling each time.Overall I think this little book would make a great gift for that special someone in your life. It was fun for me to go over old wedding footage (a real walk down memory Lane) and pick my favorite video to put on this book. Well it isn’t our anniversary yet, so I haven’t given this as a gift, I think it’s going to be a big hit! But my small knit picks her enough to drag it down from a 5 star rating. As such, my final score will end up being four stars out of five. I’d still order it over again though, because I think my wife is going to love it.

Judge this book by it’s cover because it’s all about the cover, the software is barebones…
THE GOOD:—————* Awesome, unique take on the photo frame. So instead of a frame, it’s a book that automatically starts the moment you open it.* The most giftable of all giftable gifts. LOL!* 4GB of storage, 2 hours of video.* 7″ IPS screen.* Built in speakers.* Listing doesn’t say it, but it’s okay to drag and drop photos too.* Rename your files into numbers, and the book will play it in order.THE BAD:————* It’s pretty much barebones. No software, no special apps. You simply plug it into your pc, and you drag and drop files. An app where you can wirelessly send photos would have been great like many photo frames have.* No onboard transitional effects between photos, or music. Again, it’s barebones. So if you want music and transition effects, you’ll need to do that first on any slideshow software. Then you upload your finish product to the book.* Remember to delete their intro and tutorial videos when you know how it all works.* Overall, I’ll go 4-Stars.

Such a great idea for memories
I love this little electronic memory keeper. It’d be perfect for wedding. I got it for my anniversary memories it could be used for funeral or birthday. Really just any kind of memories you want to keep in it. It’s super cute. It’s easy to use and easy to set up an overall well worth the cost.

Simply awesome!
I love everything about this digital photo album book. It has a simplistic design that is timeless. It is very easy to use and even has sound, which was a wonderful surprise. This is absolutely worth every penny!

Needs a hardware update
This is a very cool idea to have your favorite videos disguised as a book. There’s a lot of wow factor once you get everything setup and your videos uploaded. The problem is the video book doesn’t work with modern devices so you might need to buy some kind of USB adapter. You have to plug this in to your computer via previous generation USB and can’t directly transfer videos from your phone. My XPS laptop only has USB C connections so I had to get a separate USB hub just to plug this thing in. Furthermore, the videos I took with my galaxy S23 ultra weren’t even compatible with the video book so I had to delete all the videos I uploaded which didn’t play at all. I then had to go to their website and upload my videos there to get converted and emailed to me. Then I had to download the converted videos to re-upload them to the device. What a hassle! The end result was totally worth it though. This thing needs a desperate hardware update to work with modern day devices.

My friend loved her gift and a few other friends loved it to they will be ordering. They are so efficient. And explain everything I had to do.
